Gaines will direct a new production of Verdi's "Macbeth" to kick off the Lyric's 2010-11 season. The show will star the American baritone Thomas Hampson in the title role, with Nadja Michael appearing as Lady Macbeth and Dmitri Pittas as Macduff.
