Advanced Design Techniques and Realizations of Microwave and RF Filters - Zibb.com
DUBLIN, Ireland, Jul 23, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/f0fdd2/advanced_design_te) has announced the addition of the "Advanced Design Techniques and Realizations of Microwave and RF Filters" report to their offering.
The fundamentals needed to design and realize microwave and RF filters
Microwave and RF filters play an important role in communication systems and, owing to the proliferation of radar, satellite, and mobile wireless systems, there is a need for design methods that can satisfy the ever-increasing demand for accuracy, reliability, and shorter development times.
Beginning with a brief review of scattering and chain matrices, filter approximations and synthesis, waveguides and transmission lines, and fundamental electromagnetic equations, the book then covers design techniques for microwave and RF filters operating across a frequency range from 1 GHz to 35 GHz.
Each design chapter:
-- Is dedicated to only one filter and is organized by the type of filter response
-- Provides several design examples, including the analysis and modeling of the structures discussed and the methodologies employed
-- Offers practical information on the actual performance of the filters and common difficulties encountered during construction
-- Concludes with the construction technique, pictures of the inside and outside of the filter, and the measured performances
Advanced Design Techniques and Realizations of Microwave and RF Filters is an essential resource for wireless and telecommunication engineers, as well as for researchers interested in current microwave and RF filter design practices. It is also appropriate as a supplementary textbook for advanced undergraduate courses in filter design.
Key Topics Covered:
-- MICROWAVE FILTER FUNDAMENTALS.
-- Scattering Parameters and ABCD matrices.
-- Approximations and Synthesis.
-- Waveguides and Transmission Lines.
-- Categorization of Microwave Filters.
-- MINIMUM PHASE FILTERS.
-- Capacitive Gap Filters for Millimeter Waves.
-- Evanescent-mode Waveguide Filters with Dielectric Inserts.
-- Interdigital Filters.
-- Combline Filters Implemented in SSS.
-- NON MINIMUM PHASE SYMMETRICAL RESPONSE FILTERS.
-- Generalized Interdigital Filters with Conditions on Amplitude and Phase.
-- Temperature Stable Narrow Band monomode TE011 Linear Phase Filters.
-- NON MINIMUM PHASE ASYMMETRICAL RESPONSE FILTERS.
-- Asymmetrical Capacitive Gap Coupled Line (CGCL) Filters.
-- Asymmetrical Dual-mode TE102/TE301 Thick Iris Rectangular Inline Waveguide Filters with Transmission Zeros.
-- Asymmetrical Cylindrical Dual-mode Waveguide Filters with Transmission Zeros.
-- Asymmetrical Multimode Rectangular Building Block Filters Using Genetic Optimization.

Lieberman to visit Stamford, Bridgeport, Hamden and Hartford on Monday
Hartford, CT - Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) will make stops in Stamford, Bridgeport, Hamden and Hartford on Monday, August 4, 2008. In Stamford, Bridgeport and Hartford, Senator Lieberman will meet with staff from the Community Action Agencies that are charged with distributing funds from the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) to eligible individuals and families. Senator Lieberman will also meet with some of the families who rely on this aid to stay warm in the winter to hear about the dire need for a significant increase in energy assistance funding. The Senator has sought passage of several pieces of legislation that would address rising energy prices by significantly increasing LIHEAP and weatherization funding, facilitating releases of oil from the Northeast Home Heating Oil Reserve and curbing the commodities speculation that inflates the price of oil. He has also supported legislation that would increase the earned income tax credit for low- and middle-income workers in order to leave those taxpayers with more money in their pockets to pay high energy bills, as well as a measure that would provide emergency loans to small businesses hit by spikes in the price of heating oil and other fuels.
Senator Lieberman will also travel to Hamden to dine with constituents at the Town House Diner.
