NOTICE TEXT: Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Central Region Acquisition Division The U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric and Administration (NOAA), and National Marine Fisheries Services, in Miami, FL., intends to procure a contract for Charter Vessel services. The services are to support deployment of three passive acoustic monitoring buoys in continental self waters off the coast of Jacksonville, FL and Savannah, GA. The services will support three operations days of vessel time to include transit to the site, deployment of the buoys, and return to the homeport. Crew Requirements: The vessel crew must have experience in the deployment and recovery of oceanographic moorings to ensure both safety and effective recovery of this expensive technical equipment. Minimum Requirements: Vessel and crew must have experience deploying oceanographic moorings in shallow (<30m) continental shelf waters. Vessel must have a minimum of 25 square feet of aft deck space for equipment and a crane for safe loading/deployment of gear. Dockside facilities must be available to support loading and offloading of equipment. The government prefers vessel port to be located in close proximity to deployment site (Savannah, GA and Jacksonville, FL) to minimize transit time. The period of performance is 3 days between the months of October 1, 2008 - November 10, 2009. Interested parties can request a copy of the Request for Quotation. This is a small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this action is 487210. Small business size standard shall not to exceed $6.5M. This support service is being procured under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Items Procedures. Interested parties can request a copy of the Request for Quotation on or about August 25, 2008.
