Aegon Religare Life's new ad campaign from tomorrow - Zibb.com

Insurance company Aegon Religare Life Insurance's new advertising campaign featuring Bollywood actor Irfan Khan would commence tomorrow.
The campaign, 'Kum Insurance Lene Ki Bimari (KILB)', would be seen and heard across the country for six weeks on TV channels, radio and outdoors (hoardings, bus-shelters, trains and Internet).
"Through this campaign, we want to educate people about the right kind of insurance as most of them are unaware of the insurance policy they have or the risk covered. The advertisement will bring another thought for insurance in the consumer's mind," the company's Chief Executive Officer Rajiv Jamkhedkar said today.
The company would invest around Rs 8-10 crore for the campaign, conceptualised by Contract Advertising.
The private sector insurance firm has been running a teaser from August one and already invested around Rs 2 crore in it.

Aegon reports 58% drop in Q2 earnings - Zibb.com

Aegon, a provider of life insurance, pensions and long-term savings and investment products, has reported that its net income in the second quarter of 2008 was E276 million, a decrease of 58% from a net income of E655 million posted in the comparable quarter of 2007.
The group has said that its 2008 second quarter net income was affected by losses on investments as well as an increase in credit impairments, which are trending towards its long-term pricing assumptions.
For the quarter, total revenues declined 10% to E8.54 billion as against total revenues of E9.4 billion earned during the same period a year ago.
Return on equity was 11.2% in the quarter, as compared to 12.6% for the corresponding period in 2007. Operating earnings before tax decreased by 1% on a constant currency basis to E658 million.
Alex Wynaendts, CEO of Aegon, said: "Aegon's capital position and cash flows continue to be strong despite the ongoing turbulence in financial markets. In this environment, Aegon's businesses performed well with solid underlying earnings and growth in both sales and deposits."
