Nov 23, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) --
Bitstream Inc. announced that it has been selected as the subject company in the New York Society of Security Analysts' (NYSSA) 8th Annual Investment Research Challenge.
Bitstream reported it was selected in response to company CEO Anna Chagnon's presentation to the NYSSA in June 2009.
The Investment Research Challenge, which commences on Friday, November 20, is an educational initiative in which industry professionals teach business and finance students how to research and report on a publicly traded company. It consists of training in research and report writing, analysis of a public company, mentoring by a professional research analyst, assessment of written reports, and presentation of research to a high profile panel of Wall Street experts. NYSSA introduced the Challenge eight years ago as a means to promote best practices in research among the next generation of analysts.
"It is an honor to have been chosen as the subject company in the NYSSA Investment Challenge," said Chagnon. "In past years the NYSSA has selected household brands such as Phillips-Van Heusen and Tasty Baking, as well as companies from hot sectors like biopharmaceutical. We believe that being selected as the subject company suggests that mobility is a hot industry sector, and Bitstream is grateful to have this opportunity for further exposure to the investment community."
The winning team will be selected based on the combined scores for the written report and the presentation, and will qualify for the CFA Institute Global Investment Research Challenge to compete against teams from schools across the world. The Global Challenge will be held in Hong Kong in April 2010.
