The Return of Versatile Tractors - Zibb.com

Buhler Industries Inc. (TSX: BUI) made a major announcement today as the company unveiled a new brand name for the tractor division. At the first annual meeting of Buhler Versatile dealers, it was announced that the Versatile brand name will be the sole name associated with the tractor division.

On November 1, 2007, Combine Factory Rostselmash Inc. acquired 80% of the common shares of Buhler Industries Inc. The purchase included all brands manufactured under the Buhler brand name, including Versatile.

Dmitry Lyubimov, President of Buhler Industries Inc, said the decision to rebrand the tractor division was not taken lightly. "We recognize the history that is tied to the Versatile name. There are still many older Versatile tractors at work on farms around the world. The name stands for well-built tractors that are powerful, simple and easy to maintain. It is the same philosophy we use today and we are proud of that heritage. It is with great pride that we announce that the Versatile name is back."

The changes are more than cosmetic. "A lot has happened in the past year and we will continue to improve the health of the company. Our goal is to be a successful partner for dealers, while we strive to position Versatile tractors as a valuable investment for farmers."

Staff Increases, Continuing Growth More than 100 people have been hired at Versatile in the past year, with more positions waiting to be filled. Departments including parts, service and technical publications have received an increase in resources to better serve the dealer network. More engineering, research and development and quality control positions have been added to further product development and ensure consistent quality of all product lines.

New Standard Warranty

For more than 40 years, Versatile-built tractors have been known for their durability and reliability. New Versatile tractors sold after November 1, 2008 will come with a new three year / 3000 hour warranty, including the standard two year / 2000 hour warranty and an extra one year / 1000 hour powertrain warranty that covers major components such as the engine, transmission, axles and differentials. This gives Versatile tractors one of the best warranties in the industry.

Versatile Logo, Website

A new logo that recognizes the rich history of Versatile tractors has been launched in conjunction with the announcement. The logo is based on a modernized version of the well-known Versatile logo from the 1980's, including the famous Versatile `wings'. The tractors feature a new Versatile decal and a website dedicated to Versatile tractors, www.versatile-ag.com, launched today.

Versatile 250 / Versatile 280

The new Versatile 250 / Versatile 280 front-wheel assist tractors made their debut in Winnipeg today. Powered by Cummins QSC 8.3-liter engines, the 250 and 280 mark the first time in two decades that the entire Versatile tractor line features Cummins engines. The Versatile 250 and Versatile 280 will replace the Genesis 2180 and 2210.

Buhler Industries

This change does not affect Buhler Manufacturing divisions that build the Farm King, Allied or Inland family of products. The legal name of the tractor division will remain Buhler Versatile Inc.

Versatile, a division of Buhler Industries Inc. (TSX: BUI), is the only Canadian manufacturer of agricultural tractors. The factory in Winnipeg, Manitoba covers almost 700,000 square feet with complete manufacturing and assembly capabilities and full research and development facilities. Versatile also has a rural 40-acre test site with a paved quarter-mile circuit and bump-track. For more information on Versatile tractors visit www.versatile-ag.com.
