Oct 23, 2009 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) --
Fujitsu Limited ("Fujitsu") and Glovia International Ltd. (EMEA headquarters: Eindhoven, The Netherlands) have announced the release of their new manufacturing ERP solution glovia G2.
glovia G2 is the next generation ERP solution from Glovia International combining the proven functionality, reliability and scalability of Glovia solutions with new technology to create an open, powerful enterprise manufacturing solution.
Microsoft .NET & Silverlight technologies are combined with powerful services to create an open, extensible environment with a new user experience giving users visibility in to their operations to expose the power of glovia G2 in a global distribution and manufacturing environment.
"When making a change of this magnitude, one of the most important considerations is our existing customer base", says Jim Errington, Managing Director EMEA at Glovia International. "Customers want to adopt new technology as well as keep their existing investment in software and their people."
glovia G2 accomplishes this by combining technology layers in a seamless stack, providing a transformational business experience and open architecture, with a simple migration path for existing customers.
These customers include over 1200 manufacturing sites worldwide, as well as a number of Fujitsu Group factories in Japan, EMEA and at other international locations. Fujitsu group companies are used as a benchmark in supporting world class manufacturing practices in an environmentally conscious organization.
"As part of the open architecture of glovia G2, integration with Salesforce CRM using web services has been added to standard product", explains Errington. "Salesforce CRM users in the cloud can access critical operational information from their back end system, allowing joint management and visibility of sales and operational data."
With over 30 years experience building world class solutions for discrete manufacturing companies, Glovia International has leveraged that experience in building glovia G2. By transforming access to and visibility of traditional ERP data and providing a new user experience including 'Insights' in to the current business issues in real time, glovia G2 is ready for business.

Tokyo, Oct 02, 2009 (JCN Newswire via COMTEX) --
Fujitsu today announced that it has been selected by NTT DOCOMO, INC. as a vendor for developing a mobile data communications terminal based on LTE(1) technology, a next-generation mobile communications standard.
In addition to being LTE-compliant(2), it is anticipated that the mobile terminal will be able to take advantage of HSPA/W-CDMA (3G) and GSM/GPRS (2G) networks. The mobile terminal will also support the ExpressCard standard, the latest in PC card interfaces, making it possible for the mobile terminal to be installed in a variety of products, such as notebook PCs and netbooks, for high-speed communications in mobile environments.
As part of its mobile phone development plan, Fujitsu is taking an active role in promoting the use of mobile phones that access the Internet. By speedily furnishing a mobile terminal for NTT DOCOMO's planned LTE service, Fujitsu will contribute to the expansion of wireless broadband in the future 4G mobile communications market.
Fujitsu plans to exhibit a concept design of its LTE mobile data communications terminal at its booth during the ITU Telecom World 2009 international exhibition in Geneva, Switzerland, from October 5-9, 2009.
(1) LTE: LTE stands for Long Term Evolution, a mobile communications method whose specifications were determined by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standards group. The technology will allow for a maximum downlink transmission speed of over 100Mbps. DOCOMO is positioning its 3.9G technology under the proposed name of "Super 3G".
(2) LTE-compliant: On October 1, 2009, NTT DOCOMO, INC., NEC Corporation, Panasonic Mobile Communications Co., Ltd., and Fujitsu Limited plan on launching their LTE-enabled "LTE-PF" communications platform.
