GameStop Corp. (GME) NewsBite - GME Falls on GDP Reading - Zibb.com
Jun 26, 2008 (Fresh Brewed Media via COMTEX) --
GameStop (GME) opened at $45.41. So far today the stock has hit a low of $44.15 and a high of $45.41. GME is now trading at $44.28, down 1.74 (-3.78%). After hitting a one-year low of $37.40 in August, the stock hit a one-year high of $63.77 in December. GME shares are trading lower this morning with the broader market after a weak first-quarter GDP reading has investors worried about the fragile state of the economy. The Commerce Department reported that GDP grew by 1% in the first quarter, which is more than the 0.9% previously forecast, but well below the normal growth rate of 2.5% to 3%. Technical indicators for GME are bearish and steady, while S&P gives the stock a bullish 4 Stars (out of 5) Buy rating. If you're looking for a hedged play on this stock, consider an October bear-call credit spread above the $60 range. GME hasn't been above 60 since January, and could gain up to 35.5% before this trade loses money.
