Terradata Corporation (TDC) will be providing an Enterprise Data Warehouse solution to Home Depot (HD). The technology will allow the home improvement retailer to consolidate multiple business intelligence systems into one centralized location. That centralized approach should enable faster decision-making, and provide more detailed analysis of sales and inventory data.
Home Depot's Chief Information Officer said the move represents an IT improvement that will save time, and benefit the entire organization. Despite adding Home Depot as a customer, shares of Terradata were down over 2% Tuesday afternoon. Shares of Home Depot also down a little more than 2%.

ATLANTA, Oct 23, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ --
As a part of its long-term commitment to the environment and sustainability, The Home Depot(R) will kick-off this holiday season with its second annual Eco Options Christmas Light Trade In event and the first ever Power Drill Trade In, Trade Up event.
(Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20030502/HOMEDEPOTLOGO)
The Home Depot Power Drill Trade In, Trade Up event begins Sunday, October 25 and runs through Sunday, November 8 and offers customers the chance to bring in their used or broken power drills and get 15 percent off a new lithium-ion drill. Lithium-ion is a revolutionary technology in cordless tools offering more power and less weight. Lithium-ion chemistry is not harmful to the environment and it outperforms NiCad by as much as 50 percent, requiring less charging time and saving energy. Consumers can bring in their old power drill to any The Home Depot U.S. store and trade up to a lithium-ion drill and The Home Depot will recycle your old drill.
In addition, on November 5, The Home Depot begins its second annual Eco Options Christmas Light Trade In event. Customers can bring in their old working or non-working holiday light strings to be recycled and receive a $3 off coupon towards the purchase of energy efficient seasonal light-emitting diodes (LED) string lights. Customers must purchase their new LED lights between November 5 and November 15 and are limited to five redemptions. This event will also be valid at all The Home Depot U.S. stores.
LED lights are shown to use 80 percent less electricity than standard mini lights and last up to 10 times longer. This holiday season, The Home Depot will carry traditional white and multicolored ENERGY STAR qualified LED lights that offer superior connectivity - allowing consumers to link up to 87 strands (or one-quarter mile) of lights off of one outlet without the scare of overloading the circuit.
The Power Tool Trade In, Trade Up event and the Eco Options Christmas Light Trade In event is another way The Home Depot is expanding its long-term commitment to the environment and sustainability through the Eco Options program. Eco Options is a classification that allows customers to easily identify products that have less of an impact on the environment. In June 2008, Eco Options introduced a free CFL recycling service for customers to safely dispose of expired, unbroken CFL bulbs.
