Logility Announces 2009 Leadership Award Winners - Zibb.com

Logility, Inc., a leading supplier of collaborative solutions to optimize the supply chain, today announced the 2009 Logility Leadership Award winners. This year's winners Clement Pappas, Continental Mills, Lance, Inc., Ste. Michelle Wine Estates and The Heat Group were recognized at Logility's "Connections 2009 Supply Chain Optimization: Mission Possible" conference held recently in Atlanta, GA.

Logility's annual award program recognizes a select group of companies who significantly improved their business processes, deployed an innovative solution for their supply chain challenges, or have demonstrated an on-going commitment and leadership role in the expansion of supply chain improvements. Each of this year's award recipients demonstrated success in building collaboration and visibility within their supply chains which has resulted in tangible business benefits including inventory reduction, a streamlined sales and operations planning (S&OP) process, increased forecast accuracy, improved manufacturing planning, reduced transportation costs and higher customer service levels.

Examples of the winners' improvements in operational performance include:

-- Clement Pappas, a leading national private label juice and drink
producer, was recognized for their achievement in optimizing their
supply chain with Logility Voyager Solutions(TM) to improve demand,
inventory, replenishment and manufacturing planning processes. As a
result of better visibility into demand, Clement Pappas is able to
manage its supply chain and manufacturing planning processes more
effectively and can now be more proactive rather than reactive. The
benefits they have attained thus far have included a 10% reduction in
finished product inventory achieved while introducing a significant
number of new product lines/extensions; reduced forecast error by 25% at
the item by site level; improved perfect orders; and improved production
throughput by an average of 10% with one production line improving by as
        much as 33%.
-- Continental Mills, a producer of dry bakery mix products with leading
brand names such as Krusteaz and Alpine, and a strong line of popular
licensed brands, was recognized for their achievements in gaining supply
chain visibility, improving resource efficiency, and evolving the S&OP
process with Logility Voyager Solutions. Continental Mills has achieved
record service levels and inventory turns on record sales, while
reducing planning headcount, improving forecast accuracy, and ultimately
        providing better data and visibility.
-- Lance, Inc., a leading producer and distributor of snack foods, who was
recognized for its success increasing supply chain visibility, improving
forecast accuracy and increasing shelf freshness for consumers, with the
support of Logility Voyager Solutions. The results Lance achieved from
gaining better demand visibility include improved forecast accuracy,
reduced days on hand, accelerated S&OP collaboration and improved
        acquisition integration effectiveness.
-- Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, a producer and marketer of a broad portfolio
of premium wines from vineyards around the globe, was honored for its
achievements automating transportation management with Logility Voyager
Transportation Planning and Management. As a result, Ste. Michelle was
able to cost-effectively support the company's accelerating growth while
reducing transportation costs, decreasing labor-intensive processes, and
improving carrier relationships. Benefits also include increasing
resource availability for more value-adding activities, reducing the
truckload consolidation process from four to five hours a day to just
two minutes, and reducing shipping cost audit and payment variances from
an average of plus or minus $200 to an average of two dollars.

-- The Heat Group, an Australian cosmetic distributor with such brands as
Proctor & Gamble's Max Factor and CoverGirl, French cosmetic brand
Bourjois and ABC's Elite accessory brand, as well as their own 'impluse'
cosmetic brand Ulta 3, was recognized for its success increasing
visibility and collaboration across the company, improving demand,
inventory and replenishment planning processes and strengthening its
S&OP process with Logility Voyager Solutions. As a result, The Heat
Group has boosted its service level by nearly 6% to average 97%,
improved internal collaboration, increased external collaboration with
business partners, while maintaining target inventory levels.

"Logility's greatest legacy is having a long history of helping companies achieve the tangible benefits of a more collaborative supply chain with Logility Voyager Solutions," said Mike Edenfield, president and CEO, Logility. "We are privileged again this year to recognize this select group of Logility customers as Leadership Award winners. The prestigious list of past and present award winners includes some of the world's leading manufacturers and distributors and we are honored to be their technology partner and congratulate each of them on their supply chain accomplishments."
