The Optical Telescope Element (OTE), which is the eye of the Observatory, includes a giant, 6.5-meter diameter (21.3 ft.) mirror, associated mirrors and support structures.

Sperry Marine is supplying a complete VisionMaster FT(TM) IBS, with WideView(TM) high-resolution displays. The system includes a three-node electronic chart display and information system, navigation radars, adaptive self-tuning autopilot, voyage data recorder, speed and heading sensors, and other navigation components.
