Wireless technology industry leaders from around the globe will gather in San Diego Nov. 30 - Dec. 3, 2009 for the quarterly PTCRB meeting, hosted by Novatel Wireless (Nasdaq: NVTL), a leading provider of wireless broadband solutions. Over the course of four days, representatives from carriers, test labs, integrators and manufacturers will discuss requirements for new technologies that utilize GSM cellular networks.
The PTCRB meets to review certification requirements for authorized third-party test labs based on standards, as well as the needs of the operators. The PTCRB standards are continuously evolving as technology developments are made and the number of devices being certified grows exponentially from year to year. The explosion of wireless broadband solutions is one of the main contributors, as more diverse types of devices are connecting to carrier networks each year.

SAN DIEGO, Nov 19, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ --
Novatel Wireless (Nasdaq: NVTL), a leading provider of wireless broadband solutions, today announced that its industry-first MiFi Intelligent Mobile Hotspot was recognized as number two on the list of "The Best Travel Gadgets of 2009" by TIME Magazine.
MiFi represents the industry's first Intelligent Mobile Hotspot; a new category of mobile broadband that lets users put their world of content, services and connectivity in the palm of their hand. MiFi creates a personal cloud of high-speed Internet connectivity that can be easily shared between Wi-Fi devices such as laptops, cameras, gaming devices and multimedia players, even in a moving train or automobile.
The device's portability and ease-of-use combined with the unprecedented ability to connect up to five Wi-Fi devices or five users simultaneously, without tethering, has created a new product category. The MiFi products serve as an intelligent, open platform capable of hosting advanced software applications and flexible enough to address the continued evolution of mobile broadband.
"It is very satisfying to have MiFi highlighted as one of the best travel gadgets of 2009 by one of the most respected and popular magazines in the United States," said Rob Hadley, CMO of Novatel Wireless. "This recognition is a testament to our ongoing efforts to deliver innovative solutions that meet growing consumer needs for mobile connectivity while on the go."
According to TIME, "Existing Wi-Fi networks often fail to deliver, which can be especially frustrating when you're paying ridiculous prices to hotels for access to their networks. Novatel's MiFi Intelligent Mobile Hotspot takes away your wireless headaches by tapping seamlessly into Sprint's and Verizon's vast 3G networks... you'll never have to go hunting for a hotspot ever again."
