DENVER, CO, Oct 27, 2009 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) --
CH2M HILL, a global full-service engineering, procurement, construction, and operations firm, today announced it has been selected by PacifiCorp as the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for installation of new emission control equipment at its 365-megawatt coal-fueled Wyodak power plant, located near Gillette, Wyoming.
This equipment, combined with the existing emissions control equipment, will enable this power generating unit to reduce sulfur dioxide and particulate matter emissions by replacing the existing electrostatic precipitator and channeling emissions through a pulse jet fabric filter, also known as a baghouse. The project will also include new duct work and new induced draft fans. Most of the work on the project will take place over the next 24 months. Completion of duct work tie-ins and other critical components of the upgrade is scheduled for the first quarter of 2011.
"We are very pleased to work with PacifiCorp on this important project," said Don Zabilansky, President, CH2M HILL power division. "As a strategic client, CH2M HILL maintains the highest regard for PacifiCorp and its fleet-wide emissions reduction program. This level of corporate responsibility parallels CH2M HILL's corporate culture."
