Clipper Logistics Group has received a contract from Urban UK, the European operating division of Urban Outfitters, to provide logistics solutions for the company's Anthropologie brand. Europe's first Anthropologie store recently opened in London.
Urban Outfitters is a US-based retailer which owns various brands such as Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, Terrain and Leifsdottir. Anthropologie features vintage style clothes, accessories, jewelry, notebooks, decorations and homewares.
According to Logistics Manager, Clipper will provide services including retail ticketing for approximately 7,000 stock-keeping units. Clipper helped Urban UK to set up Manhattan Associate's warehouse management system during the opening of the new store.
Andrew Mclean, Urban UK's COO for Europe, said: "Clipper's proven agility and expertise in working with Urban UK meant that the team was an obvious choice to provide a logistics solution for Anthropologie."

Nov 13, 2009 (Fresh Brewed Media via COMTEX) --
Urban Outfitters (NasdaqNM: URBN) closed yesterday at $32.80. So far the stock has hit a 52-week low of $12.33 and 52-week high of $33.99. Urban Outfitters stock has been showing support around 30.87 and resistance in the 34.21 range. Technical indicators for the stock are Bullish and S&P gives URBN a positive 4 STAR (out of 5) buy rating. URBN appears on the Investors Observer Momentum Plays list. For a hedged play on this stock, look at a Mar '10 32 covered call (HXW CF) for a net debit in the $29.00 area. That is also the break even stock price for this trade. This covered call has a 127 day duration, provides 11.59% downside protection and a 10.34% assigned return rate for a 29.73% annualized return rate (comparison purposes only). A lower cost hedged play for this stock would use a longer term call option in place of the covered call stock purchase. To use this strategy look at going long the URBN Jan '11 12.50 Call (ZLL AV) and selling the Mar '10 32 call (HXW CF) for a $17.10 debit. The trade has a 127 day life and would provide 9.76% downside protection and a 14.04% assigned return rate for a 40.00% annualized return rate (for comparison purposes only). Urban Outfitters does not pay dividends at this time.
