Components suitable for diecasting in aluminium bronze vary in weight from about an ounce to several pounds. Castings of up to 40 lb have been made, but in this range the shape of the component is strictly limited. Wall thicknesses vary from 3/32 in. up to 1 in.

Nickel additions are always made in conjunction with iron in commercial cast aluminium bronzes. Some strengthening effect can be obtained by nickel alone but it does not have any grain refining action.
