E. I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. has opened a 9,000-ton-per-year 1,3 propanediol (PDO) facility at Degussa's Wesseling facility near Cologne, Germany. In April, DuPont bought PDO technology from Degussa, which will run the plant for DuPont under a cooperative agreement.
