Finisar to buy Optium in communications components deal

Optium of Horsham, Pa., and Finisar of Sunnyvale, Calif., said the combined company will be the biggest supplier of optical components, modules and subsystems for the communications industry in the world, with $660 million in annual revenues and 5,000 employees worldwide.
