Samsung Electronics Co., South Korea's tech bellwether, is in talks with DaimlerChrylser AG and BMW AG on a deal to supply the automakers with its own air-conditioning technology, company officials said Thursday.
"We're in the near final stage of talks with the companies to supply the climate control technology for their BMW and Benz models," Choi Jin-gyun, head of the company's appliance division, told reporters at a company event held in Seoul.

The company, along with Germany's Behr Co., has been developing an HVAC climate control system based on super plasma ion technology since 2007 for installment on Renault SA's models starting in 2009. HVAC stands for heating, ventilating, and air conditioning.
Samsung is also reviewing a possible deal to supply the technology for air crafts of Boeing Co., according to officials.
