Helfer signs on for 'Burn Notice' arc
MIAMI, Apr 26, 2008 (UPI via COMTEX) --
Actress Tricia Helfer has signed on to appear in multiple episodes of the Miami-based TV series "Burn Notice," the series' creator says.
"Burn" creator Matt Nix said Helfer, who appears on the Sci-Fi Channel series "Battlestar Galactica," will play a sexy "handler" named Carla who employs the series' hero Michael, TV Guide reported Friday.
"To protect the people he loves,'' Nix was quoted as saying of the upcoming second season story arc, ''Michael is forced to work for Carla -- his only link to the people behind his burn notice."
The USA Network series follows Michael, a former U.S. spy, who was suddenly disavowed by his government agency and now spends his time helping others while uncovering the mystery behind his burn notice.
TV Guide said Helfer will likely split time between the Miami set of "Burn" and the Vancouver set of "Galactica" while filming the episodes, which begin airing in July.
