Nokia Siemens Networks to expand Teletalk's network in Bangladesh

Finnish telecomms infrastructure company Nokia Siemens Networks, owned by the Finnish telecomms solutions provider Nokia (NYSE:NOK) and the German electrical engineering and electronics company Siemens, said on Monday (6 October) that it has signed an agreement with Teletalk Bangladesh Ltd, the state-owned mobile operator, for a network expansion project.
The expansion project will enhance the operator's existing network coverage and provide mobile customers advanced wireless services in a cost efficient manner, Nokia Siemens Networks said.
Nokia Siemens Networks will build out capacity for Teletalk with the modernisation of its core network, including mobile softswitching, packet core and Home Location Register (HLR).
Further, Nokia Siemens Networks will deploy base transceiver stations (BTS) to build additional network capacity to Teletalk's GSM network and roll out its network and service management solution, NetAct to improve network operational efficiency.
Nokia Siemens Networks, headquartered in Espoo, Finland, is an international telecomms infrastructure company with operations in some 150 countries worldwide.
