Urbancode Simplifies Build and Release Management With Latest Version of AnthillPro

Urbancode, provider of build and release management solutions, today announced version 3.5 of AnthillPro at JavaOne (http://java.sun.com/javaone/sf/). AnthillPro solves many of the common problems organizations engaged in software development face. It unlocks the knowledge possessed by key individuals with a standard platform for process management, and automates manual processes to reduce turn-around times. With its unique BuildLife feature, AnthillPro provides complete visibility into every stage of the software delivery lifecycle.

"The focus of the 3.5 release is to deepen integrations with tools used throughout the software delivery lifecycle," said Urbancode vice president of strategic alliance Kevin Gill. In addition to providing a centralized platform for build and release management, AnthillPro also provides a release dashboard containing a correlated view of all data collected throughout the software delivery lifecycle. "The new integrations with tools such as Rally, VersionOne, VMware Lab Manager, QuickTest Pro [via Quality Center], and Agitar allow us to provide the user with a more complete and accurate picture of the lifecycle from build to release. And that generates a lot of value for our customers," said Gill.

AnthillPro version 3.5 builds on the real benefits organizations have already seen with AnthillPro. "We adopted AnthillPro one year ago as part of our continued commitment to develop and deliver high quality software solutions to our client base of more than 180 financial institutions globally," said Jason Tong, chief operations officer -- APAC for Bravura Solutions, global supplier of wealth management applications and professional services.

"With AnthillPro, we introduced additional automation and visibility to our build and deploy processes, allowing us to further focus on creating and enhancing our software solutions. By eliminating many of the routine manual tasks, our developers and managers were also able to more effectively use their time," said Tong. "For example, AnthillPro's tight integration with Atlassian's JIRA helpdesk system allows us to identify issues in a particular build. This, coupled with the unique lifecycle management features AnthillPro provides, gives us an auditable and lightweight process that reduces delivery times to our clients."

Enhancing User Experience with AnthillPro 3.5

AnthillPro 3.5 includes a wide range of new features and improvements to enhance the user experience, including:

Ajax log viewer -- where users get the real information about the build

System Announcements -- enables administrative staff to post notices on every AnthillPro user desktop

Import/Export of Library Jobs and Workflows -- gives build engineers and managers more flexibility to reuse configurations.

Improvements for 3.5 include enhanced notifications and security, job allocation to agents, and merging of build requests. Version 3.5 also includes new integrations with communication tools (Google and MSN instant messaging), and a new integration with VisualStudio.
