Voltaire, a provider of grid backbone solutions for data centers, announced that its Voltaire InfiniBand switches and software are helping to drive previously unattainable performance for large Oracle data warehouses.
According to the company, Voltaire switches use 20 Gigabits/second, low latency InfiniBand technology to provide a high-performance server and storage fabric that dramatically speeds up application performance.
"HP Oracle Database Machine with Voltaire InfiniBand helps provide unprecedented performance, reliability and scalability for large Oracle database environments and we believe it will help accelerate greater adoption of InfiniBand technology by enterprise IT," said Ronnie Kenneth, chairman and CEO of Voltaire. "This arrangement means that more customers across many vertical markets will be able to enjoy the performance gains that InfiniBand brings to business-critical applications."
