The Honourable Jason Kenney, Secretary of State (Multiculturalism and Canadian Identity), will announce specific elements of the Historical Recognition Programs while speaking to the Indo-Canadian community on Saturday in Surrey.
The Historical Recognition Programs, announced by Prime Minister Stephen Harper in June 2006, will provide opportunities for all communities affected by wartime measures or immigration restrictions to have their experiences acknowledged and to highlight their contribution to the building of Canada.
