DJ Archer Daniels Employee Gets Grand Jury Subpoena >ADM

Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) disclosed Friday that the Environmental Protection Agency and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources have initiated a criminal investigation of the wastewater discharge practices at one of the company's Missouri barge facilities.

According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, an employee at the facility received a grand jury subpoena in February.

The Decatur, Ill., food-processing company said it has been cooperating with the investigation.

Archer Daniels has also undertaken an internal investigation of the discharge practices and does not believe that the filing of any criminal action would be appropriate, the filing said.
