Xinhua Middle East news summary at 2200 GMT, Sept. 9

ANKARA -- A Turkish soldier and two militants of the banned Kurdish Worker's Party (PKK) were killed in their clashes on Monday, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported on Tuesday.

JERUSALEM -- A special ministerial task force has completed drafting a list of 450 Palestinian prisoners whom Israel would be willing to release in exchange for kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, local daily Ha'aretz reported Tuesday on its website.

The ministerial panel, headed by Israeli Vice Premier Haim Ramon, finished drafting the list on Sunday and submitted it to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. (Israel-Shalit)

CAIRO -- The death toll from a massive rockslide in the east of the Egyptian capital of Cairo has risen to 49, the official MENA news agency reported on Tuesday, citing an official source.

Among the 57 injured, 16 of them are still receiving medical treatment at hospitals, Mohamed Sultan, head of Health Ministry's Central Department of Ambulance and Emergency, was quoted as saying. (Egypt-Rockslide-Toll)

RAMALLAH -- The Palestinian security forces of President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday arrested ten members of Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the West Bank, Hamas said in a statement.

The detentions took place in the West Bank cities of Nablus, Qalqilya, Jenin and Tulkarem, said the statement, adding that two teachers and an Imam of a mosque were among those arrested. ( Palestinians-Hamas-Arrest)
