El Paso Electric issues RFP for power resources

El Paso Electric, engaged in the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, has issued a request for proposals to obtain offers for power resources with peaking and cyclic capability.
El Paso Electric (EPE) seeks supply-side and/or demand-side proposals that offer low-cost, reliable electricity resources, and that propose options that best meet its peaking capacity need of approximately 100MW during summer hours in 2011.
EPE will consider acquiring this peaking capacity through a combination of dispatchable supply-side and demand-side resources proposed in response to this request for proposals (RFP).
