Glimmerglass Signs Reseller Pact with Micos for Eastern European Market

Glimmerglass, a provider of Intelligent Optical Switches, announced a reseller agreement with Eastern European distributor Micos, in which Micos will market and sell Glimmerglass switches to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, and Turkey.

Under the terms of the agreement, Micos will sell Glimmerglass Intelligent Optical Switches ranging from 24 to 190 ports, as well as the Glimmerglass Console, a server-based product offering centralized management for complex, multi-switch environments, in this region.

"Eastern European companies are facing the dual challenges of rapidly growing infrastructure requirements and budget restraints," said Micos Chairman Svatoslav Novak. "Fiber is the obvious solution based on its cost to bandwidth advantages. The Glimmerglass switches have consistently proven their ability to significantly reduce capital and operational expenses for organizations creating, monitoring and protecting growing fiber optic networks. We're pleased to be representing the industry leader."

"Partnering with Micos provides us with a significant sales network throughout Eastern Europe as well as hands-on familiarity with regionally specific telecommunications requirements," said Bob Lundy, Glimmerglass president and CEO. "Their knowledge, together with the strength and flexibility of our products provide an unbeatable option for organizations building fiber networks."

Glimmerglass provides wavelength management solutions. Customers deploy Glimmerglass Intelligent Optical Switches to create, monitor and protect wavelengths in networks supporting land-based and undersea telecommunications systems, data centers, peering exchanges, government networks, and video networks.
