Japanese co Nikon to expand investment in Wuxi, China
NANJING, Sept 12, 2008 (Asia In Focus via COMTEX) --
Japan's NIKON (TSE:7731)
has decided to add registered capital for its plant in Wuxi, an
industrial city in East China. The Wuxi plant has become a new
point of profit growth for the world famous optical product
producer, said vice president of the company in Wuxi on
September 9.
* New investment will be earmarked for building new factory
buildings, while Nikon will transfer production of product of
higher added value to Wuxi in the future.
* Nikon invested US$60 million to found the Nikon Optic
Instrument (China) Co., Ltd., in Wuxi New Area in June 2002,
mainly engaged in R&D, production and sales of optical
instruments and digital cameras.
