Blue Coat Reaches Over 3,000 Former Packeteer Customers and Channel Partners in 3 Weeks

Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:BCSI), the leader in WAN Application Delivery and Secure Web Gateway, today announced that it has reached over 3,000 former Packeteer, Inc. customers and channel partners in just three weeks, following its acquisition of Packeteer. An aggressive schedule of road shows and online events put Blue Coat executives and employees directly in touch with newly acquired customers and channel partners. The response from both customers and partners to these events reflects their strong interest in the combined set of solutions now offered by Blue Coat.

Blue Coat completed its acquisition of Packeteer on June 6, 2008. The combination of Blue Coat and Packeteer provides channel partners and customers the Packeteer(R) PacketShaper(R) product and Blue Coat(R) ProxySG(R) appliances for application identification and traffic shaping along with control and acceleration of applications and traffic across the enterprise Internet gateway and Wide Area Network (WAN). Together, the solutions provide Blue Coat partners and customers the ability to manage and solve increasingly complex branch office and Internet gateway application performance challenges and security threats.

"The synergy and cross-over opportunities between former Packeteer customers and partners and our own has proven exceedingly strong," said Bethany Mayer, senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Blue Coat Systems. "We are engaging immediately with these new customers and partners to meet market demands and challenges with powerful Blue Coat solutions."
