NEC launches new ft series fault-tolerant servers
Jun 12, 2008 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) --
NEC, a developer of broadband and mobile communications technologies, has launched its new ft series fault-tolerant servers, the mid-range NEC Express5800/320Fd-MR and entry-level NEC Express5800/320Fd-LR.
The 320Fd-MR features Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors. The new models are expected to support VMware ESX virtualisation software. With virtualisation technology, the products will be fully optimised for use in infrastructure to consolidate distributed servers, NEC has said.
According to NEC, the latest Express5800 ft series server models are designed to address a growing market need for hardware infrastructure with the reliability and availability essential for server consolidation.
