Diamond Bank Customers Get N1 Million, Toyota Yaris Car

Diamond Bank Plc on Wednesday presented a brand new Toyota Yaris Car and a cheque of N1 million to two lucky winners of its SavingsXtra promotion, as part of the bank's quest to reward its customers and promote a savings culture in Nigeria.

Suwa Filibus Dimka, Air Transport Supervisor with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), won the Toyota YARIS Car while a lawyer with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Birnin Kebbi, Ahmed Mohammed, won the N1 million cash prize.

Both Dimka and Mohammed were among the 14 lucky winners from the Diamond Bank's SavingsXtra, Promo which commenced in July and offers customers opportunities to win various gifts, including N1 million, N10 million, N50 million, Toyota Camry, 32 LCD Televisions, Air Conditioners and iPODs. Executive Director (Public Sector Group), Dr. Ingawa Yerima, who presented the winners their gifts, encouraged Nigerians, including civil servants, to imbibe a saving culture.

He, however, expressed worry over the poor saving culture in the country. Yerima said, "Most government workers do not save. Nigerians have to save.

Unless you save you cannot accumulate wealth, and if you cannot accumulate wealth you cannot have capital.

"If you cannot have capital, you can't be rich. I want to advise winners of the SavingsXtra Promo to utilise the money judiciously."
