April 22, 2009 (FinancialWire) -- The J. M. Smucker Co.'s (NYSE: SJM) board has approved an increase in the company's quarterly dividend, from $0.32 to $0.35 per common share. The dividend is payable on June 1 to shareholders of record at the close of business on May 15.
The company also said that its annual meeting of shareholders will be held on August 19.
Orrville, Ohio-based J. M. Smucker is a marketer and manufacturer of fruit spreads, retail packaged coffee, peanut butter, shortening and oils, ice cream toppings, sweetened condensed milk, and health and natural foods beverages.
The company's brands includes Smucker's, Folgers, Jif, Crisco, Pillsbury, Eagle Brand, R.W. Knudsen Family, Hungry Jack, White Lily and Martha White in the United States, along with Robin Hood, Five Roses, Carnation, Europe's Best and Bick's in Canada.
