Solekai Systems Completes Austar's MyStar Project

Solekai Systems Corp. announced it has completed its work on the MyStar digital video recorder (DVR) set-top box for Austar United Communications Limited.

Solekai said it assisted the Austar team by creating testing plans and tests for the test and certification phase of MyStar's development. MyStar is the first personal digital recorder available in Australia that contains two digital free-to-air tuners, enabling viewers to watch their local, digital free-to-air channels without having to purchase a separate digital set-top box. Solekai said it has also been supporting release updates to the service since its launch.

Dean Walters, CIO of Austar, said, "This project has been a truly collaborative effort. We needed a team to be able to jump into a development which was already in progress and Solekai's experts did just that. Their engineers were able to quickly engage with our MyStar team, without extensive ramp up time. Solekai has been an integral part of MyStar's ongoing development and success."

President of Solekai, Martin Caniff, said, "Working with Austar has been rewarding for Solekai on multiple levels. It's great to extend our set-top box expertise into new regions and networks, and the MyStar set-top box is a technically innovative project that leveraged the depth and breadth of our digital video experience."

Solekai Systems is a software engineering services and solutions company specializing in design, development, integration, and testing for digital video, DOD and Smart Grid industries.

Austar is a provider of subscription television services in regional and rural Australia, with more than 700,000 customers enjoying principally satellite digital television services.
