Bridgewater unveils new service control and subscriber data management system

Bridgewater Systems, a Canada-based provider of mobile personalization products and services, has introduced the Bridgewater ServiceMAX 500, a service control and subscriber data management system.

According to the company, the Bridgewater ServiceMAX 500 provides the connectivity service network (CSN) functionality WiMAX operators need to launch commercial services, manage subscribers, and support prepaid or postpaid billing. It is said to be fully compliant with the WiMAX network.

The ServiceMAX 500 incorporates Bridgewater Service Controller (AAA) to securely authorize and authenticate subscribers and performs accounting functions. It is anchored by Bridgewater's Subscriber Data Broker, an advanced subscriber data management product that unifies subscriber information including service entitlements, devices, billing profiles, preferences and context, and provides the tools to broker this data to systems and applications.

Optional modules of the product include lawful intercept support, a regulatory requirement in many countries, the Bridgewater Policy Controller for over-the-air device configuration and service activation, server redundancy, and custom plug-ins to allow for future expansion and service innovation.

David Sharpley, senior vice president at Bridgewater Systems, said: "WiMAX operators have told us that they need a proven, entry-level integrated system to speed their time to service launch, with a compelling price-point and the scalability to meet their subscriber growth objectives. The Bridgewater ServiceMAX 500 is perfectly packaged to meet key business and network requirements and has optional advanced features for differentiation and service expansion."
