XIO Strategies Announces Its Role in RFID III Contract Award

XIO Strategies (www.xiostrategies.com), Inc., a supply chain management and communications consulting firm, today announced that it has been awarded a subcontract by Northrop Grumman to provide active RFID consulting services to the U.S. Department of Defense under their RFID III contract, a multiple award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with a $429 million ceiling available for task orders.

XIO teamed with prime contractor Northrop Grumman, as well as with Evigia Systems, Inc., Onyx Government Services, Inc., and CYTEC Software Systems, Inc. in support of the effort. Work on the contract will be conducted over a three-year base period with up to seven, one-year option years. Under the terms of the contract, the XIO will provide technical RFID consulting services.

"The RFID III contract award enables an expanded role for XIO in advancing the deployment of RFID across the Department of Defense", said XIO Strategies' President and CEO Mary Ann Wagner. "Each day we see the lasting benefits that RFID can bring to DoD through streamlined supply chain operations, and this contract presents another great opportunity to enable just that type of process improvement."
