Prince George's County First Lady, Leslie Johnson Kicks Off Annual Women's Business and Wellness Conference

While starting and sustaining a business can often be an intimidating endeavor, it becomes even more challenging during periods of economic downturn. In response, the Prince George's County Women Business Owners (WBO), the Prince George's County Small Business Initiative (SBI), and Prince George's County Office of Central Services Minority Business Development Division have united to present the 4th Annual, "It's All About ME!" Women's Business and Wellness Conference(TM) (http://www.wbo.org) on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at the newly renovated 3400 Pennsy Drive facility, in Landover, Maryland.

Known for its ability to draw an impressive audience, this event features distinguished guests, workshop facilitators and speakers. Prince George's County's First Lady, Leslie Johnson will welcome conference attendees and set the tone for a day filled with renowned presenters, specialists and wellness experts, such as Life Coach and Social Networking expert, Terri Holley, MS CPCC, and Women's Comprehensive Health specialist, Dr. Angela Marshall, M.D. FACP. Prominent Cardiologist/Internist, Christine M. Bussey, M.D. will deliver the keynote address providing attendees with facts about the unique threat of heart disease facing all women; knowing the signs and symptoms, and how to protect themselves.

"It's All About Me! epitomizes what women business owners need and deserve," said WBO President and conference manager, Dawn Jackson, "Our unique and creative approach to delivering pertinent business information, while focusing on the importance of women's health and wellness culminates into a very powerful, gratifying experience."

This inspirational conference engages participants in business education, personal empowerment and health and wellness workshops, which are designed to prepare women entrepreneurs for practically any business challenge they may face, economic or otherwise. "I firmly believe that during this challenging economic period, the conference will help successful business women achieve the right balance of work and wellness as they formulate goals for 2009," said Charlotte Ducksworth, SBI Director.

Participants will have an opportunity to network, attend workshops and the Awards Luncheon. The WBO Grant Awards program graduation ceremony will also take place during the luncheon.
