Medipattern Signs Enterprise Wide B-CAD-FOR-LIFE(TM) Contract With Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology

The Medipattern Corporation ("Medipattern")(TSX VENTURE:MKI), a pioneer in the development of medical software solutions that help improve imaging workflow and productivity, today announces the signing of an Enterprise Wide B-CAD-FOR-LIFE(TM) managed service contract with Zwanger-Pesiri Radiology, Long Island's largest private medical imaging practice. From its eight locations with over 400 employees Zwanger-Pesiri provides state of the art services to the communities of Nassau and Suffolk Counties in New York. B-CAD(R) Computer Aided Detection (CAD) for breast ultrasound imaging will be implemented throughout the multi-site practice. B-CAD-FOR-LIFE provides all of the separate components that are required to install, train, use and maintain B-CAD under one monthly service fee.

All of our staff can operate in any office allowing us to book appointments conveniently for our patients. Workflow is a core strategy in implementing our plans. B-CAD fits perfectly into this philosophy. B-CAD will enable us to have comprehensive standardized breast ultrasound reports that conform to the American College of Radiology (ACR) BI-RADS(R) ultrasound lexicon. We have learned that the use of standardized protocols increases throughput while maintaining a high standard of medical excellence," concluded Dr. Mendelsohn.

"Currently, our sonographers are filling in a hand written worksheet which they scan in and store digitally in our RIS. This takes up a lot of costly storage space on our systems and takes valuable sonographer time to scan these documents into our system. B-CAD will save us storage space and time. B-CAD allows for the creation of comprehensive digital worksheets that can be shared throughout our enterprise and can be read by any of our radiologists regardless of where they are located," commented Matt Dewey, Chief Information Officer of Zwanger-Pesiri. "One of the difficulties we deal with everyday is variety of hand writing and phrasing that is unique to each sonographer which needs to be reviewed when radiologists interpret the case. B-CAD will eliminate this nuisance and provide a consistent look and feel that will accommodate our needs through customized templates and adherence to the ACR standards."

Zwanger-Pesiri was founded in 1953 with the purpose of providing referring physicians and patients on Long Island with modern medical diagnostics. The practice was the first in the area to offer specialized imaging with a 3 Tesla MRI, first with 128 slice CT following on in the tradition of providing leading edge, innovative medicine to better care for the community.
