Apriso Boosts First Quarter Revenue 33 Percent on Year-Over-Year Basis

Apriso(R), a leading provider of adaptive software solutions for global Manufacturing Operations Management (http://www.apriso.com/products/flexnet_global_manufacturing_suite_enterprise_manufacturing_operations_management_MOM.htm) (MOM), today announced first quarter 2009 revenue grew 33 percent, on a year-over-year basis. Growth was driven by software revenues, up 81 percent, and professional services revenue, up by 31 percent from the same period last year. Growth was evenly spread across the firm's European, American and Asian Pacific operations, as customers serving the automotive, consumer goods, mill products and life sciences industries chose Apriso to quickly improve manufacturing efficiency, while reducing costs and improving cash flow.

"Our continued 2009 revenue growth is indicative of a growing trend and expectation across the manufacturing industry for solutions that can be installed in a timely manner and can provide a strong return on investment by reducing costs and improving manufacturing operational efficiency," explained Jim Henderson, president and CEO of Apriso. "Many of our customers are 'best-in-class' global manufacturers within their respective industries. They understand now is an excellent time to invest in greater collaboration and efficiency across their distributed operations to improve market share, positioning themselves for market expansion when the time is right."

Customer Activity Three new manufacturers selected Apriso in the first quarter as their system for managing and executing manufacturing operations: a French pharmaceutical group, a leading global electronics company and one of the world's largest tobacco products manufacturers. In addition to these new first quarter customers, four existing clients significantly expanded their Apriso software deployments to new operational areas and geographic regions. Another five customers had their FlexNet deployment "go live" in the first quarter, in addition to a Japanese plant at Toray Industries, Inc., as announced in February.

Product Updates In January, Apriso announced the MOM industry's first global approach to Business Process Lifecycle Management (http://www.apriso.com/products/flexnet_global_process_manager_standardize_operations_processes_across_enterprise.htm)(TM). With this enhancement, manufacturers can more efficiently create, manage and retire business processes while governing standardized best practices across a broad scope of manufacturing operations performed at multiple physical locations. This functionality is now available within FlexNet 9.4.2.

Apriso's ability to support customers' plant floor industrial Automation systems was endorsed in February when Apriso became the first MOM provider to achieve "Compliance Certified" status by the OPC Foundation, an industry consortium that creates and maintains standards for open connectivity of industrial automation devices and systems. Having successfully completed a series of rigorous interoperability, performance and usability tests, FlexNet demonstrated an ability to integrate with data historians, SCADA, PLC's among other automation level applications.

Industry Recognition In March, Apriso's customer L'Oreal was recognized as a Progressive Manufacturer by Managing Automation magazine, a designation that was extended to Apriso through recognition as a Progressive Manufacturing Technology Partner for 2009. The awards are to be presented at an upcoming event in June, reflecting L'Oreal's vision for improving manufacturing operational excellence at the lowest total cost.
