Quest Software Continues Support for the Microsoft System Center Platform

Quest Software stated that it has strengthened its set of solutions to help organizations deploy and manage their IT infrastructures by maximizing investment in the Microsoft System Center suite.
"Customers want insight into their IT operations and the System Center suite of management offerings delivers this to help drive down costs and improve overall efficiency through an integrated management experience," said Ryan O'Hara, director, System Center Product Management, Microsoft. "The integration with System Center that Quest delivers through their PRO-enabled Management Pack with its real-time integration and remedial capabilities, helps customers get deeper insight into their environment and reduce complexity."
Quest said its system center enhancements include:
New Version of QMX - Operations Manager 2007
- Created the QMX PRO-enabled Management Pack for non-Windows operating systems and non-Microsoft application technologies enables intelligent virtual machine tuning through analysis of system resource, network, storage and application monitoring.
- Added support for key Microsoft technologies including Windows Server 2008 and Vista.
New Version of QMX - Configuration Manager 2007
- Added support for key Microsoft technologies including Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008, Microsoft's Internet Information Services 7 (IIS), and Native Mode.
- Added support for additional non-Windows systems CentOS 4 and 5, IBM AIX 6.1 and VWware 3.5.
Improved Quest System Center Online Community site
- Dedicated to IT professionals, the new Quest Management Extensions Community now features improved navigation, direct access to product developers, a mini Google search function, and updated product coverage and documentation.
- Originally launched at MMS 2008, the Quest System Center community site has grown 640 percent in unique users with more than 13,000 downloads in March.
- Partnered with the new System Center Central community site as a gold sponsor, Quest will integrate its Management Extensions community and provide product demonstrations, white papers and advice on industry trends and topics based on its deep System Center expertise.
