Apparent Networks announced that its new Application Path Analyzer for BMC Software's Remedy Service Desk (APA) product, which integrates network path performance information to BMC Remedy Service Desk, has met the requirements of the BMC Remedy Validation Program.
The Program includes testing to ensure that third-party products integrate properly with BMC Software solutions and platforms. Apparent Networks, a member of BMC Software's Technology Alliance Program (TAP), also announced that the new APA product is now generally available to customers and resellers.
"Apparent Networks is committed to helping our mutual customers better support their businesses through consistent delivery of IT services and faster incident resolution," said Fred Johannessen, VP, Technology Alliance and MarketZone, BMC Software. "The APA product makes actionable problem-solving information instantly available to BMC Remedy Service Desk teams. It enables even junior staff members to resolve difficult network performance problems more quickly and cost effectively."
Developed as a new module for AppCritical, Apparent Networks' enterprise-class network performance management solution, APA, is an integrated add-on product for BMC Remedy Service Desk. APA extends the value of BMC Remedy Service Desk by giving users 'application-centric' views of the performance of network paths - the entire set of devices and hops between the source and destination of application traffic. APA enhances automated incident and problem management workflows for BMC Remedy with real-time performance information. When a problem is detected, APA gives IT support teams the intelligence they need to pinpoint the problem's location, analyze its root cause and take remedial actions quickly and without escalation.
"Application Path Analyzer for BMC Remedy Service Desk provides an entirely new dimension of network performance intelligence," said Keith Bartlett, VP of business development for Apparent Networks. "From within their familiar BMC Remedy Service Desk screens, support teams have new information and insight that lets them resolve more issues more quickly and with fewer escalations. The BMC Remedy validation underscores the fact that APA can drive significant improvements in incident and problem management through increased IT staff efficiency."
Apparent Networks is an IT performance management provider that delivers service insight for cloud applications.
