OpenSpan, Inc., a provider of business user productivity software, announced the OpenSpan Platform version 4.1, featuring support for SAP.
With support for messaging platforms, plus support for Oracle Forms, BMC Remedy, IBM Lotus Notes and Microsoft Access, the OpenSpan Platform continues to drive business user productivity improvements across additional enterprise applications and messaging platforms.
"The OpenSpan Platform v4.1 is the industry's most comprehensive and universal platform for improving desktop productivity through process automation and application integration," said Eric Musser, CEO, OpenSpan. "As we continue to build out a library of adapters for enterprise applications and messaging middleware, the OpenSpan Platform is becoming more of a universal change agent for business user productivity. Currently, more than 100,000 enterprise desktops are realizing improved workflows and higher performance because of the OpenSpan Platform."
The OpenSpan Platform v4.1 facilitates business user productivity by eliminating the silos separating packaged and custom applications deployed on user desktops, enterprise servers, virtualized environments or in the cloud. With OpenSpan, enterprises can automate and even service-enable business processes across virtually any applications, regardless of where they are hosted.
OpenSpan Platform v4.1 also enables the creation of tooltips or pop-ups, which guide users through a desired workflow. Tooltips are a way to extend existing applications in order to streamline training or ensure process adherence for employees. With OpenSpan, enterprises can create their own tooltips for legacy applications.
Adapters for the OpenSpan Platform v4.1 include:
- SAP R/3 and Web
- Oracle Forms 6i
- Microsoft Access
- IBM Lotus Notes v6.5
- BMC Remedy v7.1+
- Salesforce.com API integration
- Messaging support for TIBCO EMS, JMS, IBM MQ Series and MSMQ
OpenSpan Platform v4.1 will be available in June 2009.
