SmarTrend(R) News Watch: Berkshire Hathaway Raises Stakes in WFC, USB, JNJ and Railroads

Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A)(NYSE:BRK.B) said Friday that it had raised its holdings in Wells Fargo (NYSE:WFC), US Bancorp (NYSE:USB) and Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ). The company bought an additional 12.4 billion shares of Wells Fargo for a 6.5% total stake, 1.5 million shares of US Bancorp for a 3.7% total stake and 3.9 million shares of Johnson & Johnson. Berkshire also bought more of two railroads, including Northern Santa Fe Corp (NYSE:BNI) and Union Pacific Corp (NYSE:UNP).
