Vodafone is considering abandoning its exclusive deal with retailer Phones 4U and returning to contract sales at Carphone Warehouse, the Guardian reports. The company signed an exclusive deal with Phones4U in October 2006. However, Vodafone UK CEO Guy Laurence admitted that the idea to shake up the distribution scene had not worked. "It was a decision we took some time ago in the hope that it would provide some kind of changes in the overall distribution pattern in the UK. That did not happen. Obviously it is something that we reconsider on a regular basis." Vodafone is understood to be planning to re-open negotiations with Carphone Warehouse within the next few weeks in order to get its contract offering back into the retailer's 820 UK stores, the paper said.
