INRange Systems, a developer and supplier of Emma, an FDA cleared device for Remote Medication Management, announced that it has been named as one of the "2009 Red Herring 100 North American Award Winners," a list honoring the year's promising private technology ventures in North America.
According to company officials, the Red Herring editorial team selects companies from a pool of over 1,200 applicants. Applicants are judged on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, quality of management, execution of strategy, and integration into their respective industries. INRange joins the ranks of previous Red Herring Award Winners including Yahoo, Google, Skype, Salesforce.com, and YouTube.
According to INRange, the company plans to accelerate the adoption of its EMMA system with US Military and Veterans' Administration for the treatment of soldiers suffering from traumatic brain injuries, the Program for the All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) and for the treatment of Mental Health Patients by late summer.
"It is a product whose time has come," says Tony Pratt, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "The management of medications in the outpatient setting is a national priority and EMMA is consistent with President Obama's Healthcare Initiatives. We are very excited about our prospects and expect strong growth in the 2nd half of 2009 and 2010."
INRange was one of 200 finalists, selected from the more than 1200 applicants, invited to present at the Red Herring Conference in San Diego on May 12th and 13th. At the end of the Conference the Top 100 winners were announced.
"Being recognized by Red Herring as one of their Top 100 North American Companies for 2009 was quite surprising," said Chris Bossi, President of INRange. "We are not located in Silicon Valley and we never expected to receive such a prestigious award. This award is a tribute to the staff at INRange and the vision of its founder, Dr. Mary Anne Papp."
Red Herring is a global media company.
