Keynote Systems, a provider of on-demand mobile and Internet test & measurement solutions, announced a free webinar for retailers entitled, "Load Testing Fundamenals and Best Practices for Web Applications," to be held on Thursday, May 28th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Pacific time.
Despite the recession, Keynote reported, Web traffic has increased this year as people flock to the Web to comparison shop for the best online deals and to save money at the gas pump. And while industry analysts' end of year predictions for 2009 online shopping varies, there is little doubt that optimizing a site for the best possible end user experience separates winners from losers each and every online holiday shopping season. Web sites can not sit on past laurels. When consumers have a bad online shopping experience they typically don't return to the site for a very long time and all the trust built up over the years lays wasted.
"Every year popular and leading retail sites take unexpected performance tumbles when they struggle to respond to the surge in site visitors during the holiday shopping season," said Anshu Agarwal, VP of marketing at Keynote. "If you're responsible for online sales this year, be sure your team has the best practices and tools for getting your Web site ready."
Keynote's best practices load testing webinar will draw on Keynote's decades of load testing experience from the biggest, most complex portals down to start-up Web 2.0 sites and will cover:
- How to Plan and Execute a Successful Load Test
- Load Testing Best Practices
- Testing From Your Customer Locations
- Behavioral Modeling
- Most Frequent Bottlenecks and How to Avoid Them
