LifePics Adds New In-House and Wholesale Photo Books

LifePics announced the option for retailers to offer hundreds of new online photo book options to consumers via LifePics-powered retail photo sites, increasing LifePics' online photo book offering to a total of 450 possible books.

The new additions include several in-house options that retailers can print on a variety of creative printing solutions that LifePics integrates with, including HP's Photo Center, HP's Indigo printers, Noritsu's D701, several Xerox printers, and others. LifePics also added new book options via Proven Direct, a wholesaler that specializes in high-end custom cover wrap-around and lay-flat books.

"Given that photo books grew 5X last year, we decided to really focus on increasing our online photo book offering during the first quarter of 2009, so consumers have a wide variety of book styles to choose from for the summer vacation and wedding seasons as well as the 2009 holiday season," said Vahe Christianian, Vice President of Sales and Business Development at LifePics. "Despite the tough economic times at retail and at home, we are definitely finding that photo books are growing because they provide a pleasant relief from the melancholy caused by the down economy. Specifically, the variety of book sizes and prices we offer allows consumers to create and give meaningful gifts, while keeping an eye on their pocket 'book' too. It's a real hit for both retailers and consumers."

LifePics reported that all photo books available through LifePics come in various sizes, colors, and keyhole options, and can be created on LifePics' online photo book engine. Some of the new in-house options include 5x5, 8x8, 10x10, and 12x12 books, as well as custom cover options, which allows consumers to have their images printed directly on the book's cover. New options for books fulfilled by Proven Direct include custom cover 10x10 and 12x12 books that come packaged in a silver two-piece box with a decorative label.

"The new photo book options from LifePics are exactly what we asked for earlier this year, and we were thrilled they were able to add them so quickly, in time for all the major photo shopping seasons," said Jason Jaslow, Owner of Mimosa Digital in Hoboken, NJ. "We all know photo books are the hottest thing in retail photo right now, and it feels good to know that thanks to LifePics, I can now offer my customers the widest variety of high-quality photo books on the Web."
