Hertz New Zealand and Unisys Ink Outsourcing Services Renewal

Unisys announced that Hertz New Zealand has signed a three-year contract renewal with Unisys New Zealand for IT outsourcing services.

The decision extends a successful outsourcing program, in which Unisys provides IT support for business continuity services, communications and network management, and efficient administration systems, enabling Hertz to focus on core business priorities.

In addition, Unisys will provide a ClearPath Libra Model 400 mainframe to support a number of key Hertz applications written using Unisys Enterprise Application Environment (EAE). The new mainframe will be part of a flexible, real-time infrastructure in which IT resources automatically handle rapid changes in business requirements and enable computing capacity to be quickly increased or decreased in response to the needs of the business.

"As one of the largest global car rental companies and with 50 locations across New Zealand, as well as a 24-hour online booking system, we need reliable IT to be able to efficiently manage customer bookings and to stay competitive. We have renewed our contract with Unisys because the continued reliable outsourcing service we receive allows us to better serve our customers," said Murray Hodges, Managing Director, Hertz New Zealand.

Brett Hodgson, Managing Director, Unisys New Zealand, said, "Outsourcing its IT support to Unisys allows Hertz to focus on its core business of providing customer-focused and cost-efficient car rentals while it benefits from improved technology and business processes and reduced costs.

"Unisys is proud to have provided Hertz with stable and reliable IT environments, supporting their changing business requirements for more than a decade."

Unisys is a information technology company that provides a portfolio of IT services, software, and technology that solves critical problems for clients.
