Barbara Williams, Executive Vice President, Content, Canwest Broadcasting officially unveiled the Fall 2009 Primetime Schedule for Global Television at Toronto's historic Distillery District earlier this morning.
"Viewers are in for a real treat," said Williams. "The strength of our returning hits provides a solid anchor for every night of the week. Add to this the cream of the crop from the new season, and we've got a powerful combination that will be hard to top."
Global's fall line-up includes the most buzz-worthy show of the season GLEE. From creator Ryan Murphy ("Nip/Tuck") comes a musical-comedy about a vibrant group of geeky misfits and the resurgence of the school's unpopular glee club. Also new to the schedule is the animated and loveable Cleveland Brown starring in his very own Family Guy spin-off series, THE CLEVELAND SHOW.
The superb Julianna Margulies ("ER") returns to the small screen in THE GOOD WIFE, as a scorned politician's wife who must persevere beyond a very public scandal in her hometown of Chicago. Meanwhile on the west coast, hip-hop recording artist, LL Cool J ("Charlie's Angels") and Chris O'Donnell ("Scent of a Woman") join forces to lead a team of undercover surveillance investigators in NCIS: LOS ANGELES. Last, but certainly not least, the sexy, wild drama of MELROSE PLACE is back. Fans will revisit the trendy stomping grounds of the popular 1990's series with some familiar faces such as Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro, as well as some new tenants including Ashlee Simpson-Wentz ("Seventh Heaven") and Canadian Jessica Lucas ("Cloverfield").
Returning primetime hits include HOUSE, LIE TO ME, NCIS, BONES, THE OFFICE, SURVIVOR, HEROES, BROTHERS & SISTERS, FAMILY GUY and the 21st season of the iconic animated series, THE SIMPSONS.
GlobalTV.com, the country's fastest growing broadcast site(xx) will provide full access to an amazing roster of returning hits with two all-new additions, Survivor and NCIS, plus many of the latest acquisitions including The Good Wife and Melrose Place.
