CanElson Announces Appointment of Two New Directors

CanElson Drilling Inc. ("CanElson") (TSX VENTURE:CDI) today announced that Mr. Rodger Hawkins, CA, MBA and Mr. Dale Johnson have been appointed as directors of the Corporation. Mr. Hawkins brings a wealth of experience to CanElson, with over 30 years of experience in audit and accounting with a focus on junior public companies in the resource, technology and resource service sectors. Mr. Hawkins, prior to his retirement in early 2007, was the Managing Partner of the Calgary office of BDO Dunwoody. Mr. Hawkins is presently a business consultant providing advice to a number of clients in different industries, including a professional football team. Mr. Johnson has built on engineering and management academic credentials with almost 40 years of experience in corporate leadership, operations management, business development, project management and turnarounds for private and public companies, primarily in the oil and gas sector. He has had responsibility for the design and construction of both onshore and offshore drilling rigs for applications ranging from the North Sea to the Canadian Arctic to the Peruvian jungle. In addition to his role as a director with CanElson, he presently provides management consulting services and serves as non-executive Chairman of a leading online financial services firm listed on the London Stock Exchange (AIM).

CanElson is an Alberta, Canada corporation that is currently engaged in the manufacture and operation of drilling rigs in Canada's Western Sedimentary Basin.
