AccessKey IP/TeknoCreations Issues Clarification of Underwriter Laboratories Product Notice

AccessKey IP's (Pink Sheets:AKYI) subsidiary TeknoCreations announced a clarification today regarding an announcement by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) dated June 5, 2009 regarding "TeknoCreations" Video Game Handle Chargers. A limited number of The Video Game Handle Chargers developed by TeknoCreations Inc. InCharge for the Nintendo Wii Product # ICWII200 & ICWII200FR and for Microsoft Xbox Product # ICX360500, ICX360500FR were mislabeled with the UL(r) mark.

In October 2008 Underwriter Laboratories production inspectors found that limited quantities of TeknoCreations' products were incorrectly labeled with the UL(r) mark. Immediately upon notification, TeknoCreations corrected this issue and a subsequent inspection was done by UL inspectors and the current products and packaging are in full compliance. TeknoCreations Inc. InCharge for the Nintendo Wii Product # ICWII200 & ICWII200FR and for Microsoft Xbox Product # ICX360500, ICX360500FR include an AC adaptor which is UL(r) approved.

The mislabeled products are DC powered and do not require UL(r) approval. The AC power adaptor which requires UL(r) approval are UL(r) certified. There are no consumer safety issues; there is no action required by the UL or consumers; and in no way should there be a lack of confidence by consumers or retailers in the Video Game Handle Chargers manufactured by TeknoCreations. Less than 6,000 out of more than 70,000 units were mislabeled.

Bruce Palmer, TeknoCreations President stated, "We are obviously concerned with this situation and have done everything possible to comply with the UL to resolve this issue. Most importantly is the fact that consumer safety has not been compromised."
